We are friendly care that is close to home. With 142 beds, The Friendlies offers a range of services from surgical to medical, cardiac to oncology to allied health and pharmacy.

Before modern insurance and the welfare state, friendly societies provided social services to individuals who bound themselves to help each other, present and future, to shield each other from misfortune, and to support each other in their day of need. The Friendly Society Private hospital is a not-for-profit organisation, created under these same principles.

Bundaberg Friendly Society Medical Institute

The Bundaberg Friendly Society Medical Institute is the governing body of the Friendly Society Private Hospital and Friendly Society Pharmacy. The Institute was first registered in 1919, and run by a general committee until a board of directors was first established in 1991 due to a change in the law governing Friendly Societies.
