Established in 1966 by John and Anne Singleton, Singletons Meats or Singos Meats as it is known today has been serving the Coast for over 48 years. With several stores opened by the mid eighties, John was the first butcher within the region to start the bulk sale of meat to the general public.

His son, Dean Singleton, served his time with his dad before branching out - opening his own store at Ourimbah and expanding rapidly with a young person's determination. In 1998 John Singleton decided it was time for a change and sold the business to Dean, Anne & Sharon, shortly there after the determination that had seen Dean succeed at Ourimbah was driving his new venture forward at a rapid rate.

Ordinary to say the least. We went hunting for a butcher selling quality meat. Very disappointing. The sirloin steak was very chewy even after Iโ€™d marinated the meat for 48 hours. The lamb cutlets were much better. I would say Coles has better quality.

Cheap and nasty meat is sold to the public. I thought I would try again after a couple of years and it was very ordinary. It's sad to say that Woolworths has better meat, better prices and service.

Considering we went out of our way to visit, hunting for a combination of interesting stuff for a bit of variety, and good prices, I confess I'm a bit disappointed.
Prices range from good to out of my league and that's okay, but the range can't compete with Coles & Woolies. There needs to be more, especially of the interesting stuff, if Singo's really want to entice customers away from the supermarkets!๐Ÿค”
Jacob made a very good point in his review from 12 months ago when he praised Aldi for quality and prices!๐Ÿ‘

Have bought several different meats from Singoโ€™s now and have been pretty happy thus far, however today I purchased a $38 lamb roast and it was full of fat. I mean, I could not carve a piece off the roast without having fat through it. Pretty much 50/50 meat to fat ratio. I understand the need to maximise the profit off the lamb but this was ridiculous. Very disappointing and Clearly taking advantage of the price of lamb per kilo and deceiving the customer.

Purchased 2 x trays of Pork rib racks and a bag or pork crackle. Pork ribs were cooked as per usual method low and slow and were the chewiest ribs I've ever purchased (usually eat them every weekend from georgetown). Pork crackle was stale and tasted terrible at $8.50 a bag. Spent $50 in store and felt it would have been better feeding my money through the local wheres the gold. Wont return.

The most horrific customer service I have ever experienced. I sent my son in to get some lamb cutlets for me, and he suffers from a number of chronic anxiety conditions. He asked for some crumbed lamb cutlets and the man behind the counter straight away cut some fresh ones off the rack and gave them to the woman to process. They came to $30, and he was not told the price until he paid. I know so far this isn't a big deal, and we are aware there were ways we could have intervened but as I said it's very difficult for him to push his way into difficult situations. This wasn't the bad part, just a

I had gone to singos many times and now i wish i didn't. Very borderline average. Wouldn't buy the rump its tough and disgusting. Some meat is well priced which brings in the customers but have hardly had any good sales for most of the year. I find that a lot of the meat goes way out of date before the reccomended time with some meat going out of date 4-5 days prior. Most workers there are rude and i don't understand why. At the end of the day my opinion won't really count for anything but let me assure you if you travel to singos because of the prices i guarantee if you go to your local aldi you
