National Music Academy began in 1995, when founder and principal Gianni Michelini began teaching guitar lessons from his home. Back then, the focus was on providing amazing, personalised lessons for every single student, while Gianni's mother would make each student waiting for their lesson feel like family with a warm smile and a plate of home-cooked spaghetti.

At NMA, we accommodate every student, no matter what their age, level, goals or interests. We welcome students if they have never touched an instrument before, if they have had lessons previously, all the way through to seasoned professionals looking to develop their craft further. We accept students once they have started kindergarten for our one on one tailored tuition.
Online Lessons

Don't you be mistaken we will come back to face to face lessons but only when it is safe to do so. We are so lucky to be living in a world where we have access to the technology that keeps us listening, keeps us learning, and keeps us connected. We have been working hard back stage on implementing an online lesson option for all of our NMA students with plans of launching late 2020.

Our ongoing and casual tuition is tailored to the student, built around each individual's goals and previous experience. Our teachers work in a variety of genres and styles, including classical, pop, rock, jazz, blues, world, metal, musical theatre, country and more. Our teachers come from a diverse range of backgrounds and each teacher brings with them a unique combination of education and experience.
