Usually, a porcelain crown treatment requires two dental visits. During the first visit, the dentist prepares your tooth, takes an impression of it and then places a temporary restoration. The crown will then be designed and fabricated in a dental laboratory within the next 14 days. Once that process is completed, the patient returns to the practice for the final crown insertion.
