As an authorised RMS repair station, we service and repair all types of trailers. Whether your trailer is a box, boat, plant, custom, car, horse float, camper trailer or caravan chassis; if it is a trailer, we can repair it. We have a comprehensive range of parts available to suit all of our trailers and most other brand trailers.

I have designs in mind. What information can I prepare before meeting with FELK engineers to help with the process? This is a question we are asked on a daily basis, as everyone has different ideas and requirements from a prospective trailer. We encourage our clients to provide any drawings, designs, towing requirements (weight) and example photos of other trailers or features.

NSW Roads and Maritime Services requires any trailer over 2 tonne GVM (the weight of the trailer plus load) to have a breakaway system installed. This can be on either Electric or Hydraulic drum brake trailers or Hydraulic Disc on Boat Trailers. An in-cab controller is also required by RMS to be fitted to the tow vehicle, with a battery monitor to operate the braking systems.

VSCCS Certificate

The Vehicle Safety Compliance Certification Scheme (VSCCS) is a scheme that the Roads and Maritime Services (RMS) have created to manage modified vehicles and trailers that require assessment and certification by someone who is accredited with the VSCCS program.
An accredited VSCCS certifier will possess the technical knowledge, competency and skills to understand if a trailer is compliant with the relevant Australian Design Rule (ADR), as well as the state legislature relating to the scope of works on the vehicle.Those who are accredited with the scheme act as representatives for the RMS to certify non-standard trailers.
