The Australian Swim Schools Association (ASSA) is committed to the safety, wellbeing, and empowerment of all children accessing our programs and services including indigenous children, those from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds and children and adults with disability. ASSA has a zero-tolerance approach to any form of child abuse.
We support the rights of children and will act as quickly as possible, guided by the law, the ASSA Constitution and Policies, to ensure an environment is maintained where children and all participants feel safe, respected, valued and empowered at all times. In 2018, ASSA engaged Child Protection experts, Child Safeguard, to ensure that the Swim School environment is child safe.

Baby & Me
Report
A sequential, developmentally skill based, water awareness program for babies and toddlers from 4 months to 3 years of age, with a parent or carer in the water. This program teaches the appropriate skills towards progression and future stroke development.
Babies and parents are introduced to, and learn to love and respect the water in a fun and colourful environment using toys, songs and skill based activities that enhance confidence and the learning of basic safety and water skills. These skills are reliant on education, not just entertainment. We believe that teaching skills slowly and well in a progressive, sequential program is vital to overall future stroke development.

Schools Intensive Program
Report
G.A.C. is a dedicated Learn to swim centre and is ideally set up to cater for school's intensive swimming programs. Learning to swim is not a sport, it is an education invaluable life skill that will be a basis for recreation, fitness and most importantly, survival.
With many school camping programs containing water-based activities, it is very important that children feel confident in and around water so that not only can they participate completely, but with enjoyment.Once the learner is a strong and competent swimmer, they will decide whether to pursue swimming competitively as a sport.
