Facilities
Report
The facilities at Kooronya were purpose built with the needs of your pets in mind. We have two separate kennel facilities to accommodate the different needs of small and large dogs. In addition to our kennel for larger dogs, we also have a 'little-dog' kennel where only smaller pets are housed. This ensures the comfort of the animals by housing them together with mates of their own size.
Cattery
Report
Each of individual cat pens are cleaned daily to ensure even the fussiest of cats remain comfortable throughout their stay. In addition to roomy indoor facilities, we also have an exercise enclosure which is protected against the elements. The enclosure features natural rocks, tan bark, plants and a tree for scratching.
Diet
Report
Cats are fed a selection of premium canned dishes, in addition to premium grain free dry food. We ensure the food provided at Kooronya is free from added salt, preservatives and artificial colours; to safeguard to health and wellbeing of your pet. If your dog or cat has special dietary or medical requirements, we are happy to accommodate those needs.

I'm very satisfied with the quality and standard of care was given to our Standard Poodle.
I will use them again.
Cost was $42.00 per day for a 5 day stay.

I also wanted to rate a zero for the service i luckily did not receive as they refused to take my dog at the last minute. I called up for a last minute booking and booked my 15 month rottweiler in for one night. Was advised all they needed was the dog and his vaccination certificate.
When we arrived, christine ,who i had spoken to on the phone only 15 minutes earlier seemed to have no idea who we were?
My dog was excited and greeted her with no problems and we started to do the paperwork when a man approached the small office. My pup is frightened of some men so became fearful aggressive.

I left my dog here for just over a week recently. I called to see if i could pick him up at 5.30pm (knowing they shut at 5pm) to give it a try as if i was to pick him up the next day before 11am they don't charge you anyway, so thought it might be easier as they live at the property to just let me collect him that afternoon. The lady i spoke to on the phone was rude and said "NO 5 O'CLOCK IS 5 O'CLOCK". It was worth a try to call and see however she was extremely rude in her response. When i collected my dog the next day he absolutely stunk which he never ever does, i had to put the windows down

Kooronya came through for last minute accommodation for both my cat and dog. Was happy with the facilities and my dog came back a bit plumper but happy and clean. Cat facilities were also good. I like the way this organisation is available on weekends and public holidays to take your call. I have no reason to not recommend. Would definitely put my pets there again. The only reason I'm giving 4 instead of 5 stars is due to superior customer service I've received elsewhere (which I think comes down to more staff and bigger facility). I would also urge management to respond to negative reviews, as

I have been using Kooronya Boarding Kennel and Cattery for about 5 years for my golden retriever and burmese cat. Both are always well cared for and I enjoy having the peace of mind when I am away. This is a family run business and the staff are always very friendly and knowledgeable. The prices are very reasonable and the service is high quality. Both my pets and my family are very happy.

Our dog stayed here for a couple of weeks, normally a friendly outgoing dog.He came back from the kennels shaking with his tail between his legs for over a week later. He had diarrhea , stunk and was filthy dirty. The owner was a rude man and put him in with other dogs despite being asked not too. Should be shut down. We now go to Dishlickers in Pearcedale and have had no problems at all.

Rude owner and badly maintained kennels! I would not leave my pets here again. The kennels (even the office) had an overwhelming smell of dog pee and throughout the process of filling in forms we found the owner to be condescending, intimidating and rude, making threatening jokes to myself and my mother on several occasions the morning we dropped our pets off. Even after he asked us to read the T&Cs form before signing he joked about us causing problems and not signing it just because my mother took a moment to read over the forms?!... After asking to see where our animals (cat/dogs) would be kept

DO NOT LEAVE YOUR PET HERE!
When I picked up my dog he had lost a considerable amount of weight, seemed dehydrated, his tail was covered in blood and he was extremely distressed... His bed was filthy and soaking wet which had obviously been the case the whole time he was there. They also tell you they wash your pet before you pick them up however his legs and stomach were covered in mud.
I will never leave my pet here again or recommend this kennel to anyone. If I could rate them 0 stars I would

Completely agree with the comment before me. I was told there was a 12 day minimum over Christmas and even quoted on this amount, yet when it came to drop off the owner changed his story and said it was 14 day minimum. He was rude and condescending, and even threatened to cancel my booking despite taking a deposit. Upon pick up my dog stunk to high heaven and had lost a substantial amount of weight. Given the way he talks to his customers, I would hate to see how he treats their pets. Complete lack of customer service. I highly recommend Michelle at Cranbourne Boarding Kennels (unfortunately she
