Rob McNamara Upholsterer

Established in 1997, our business builds upon over four decades of hands-on experience in the upholstery industry. I began my journey at age 13, sweeping floors in 1974, and completed my apprenticeship by 15. After opening my first Brisbane upholstery business at 18, I relocated to Cairns in 1986, eventually launching my current enterprise after 11 more years of industry immersion. My expertise spans domestic and commercial upholstery, including healthcare sector projects for Cairns Base Hospital and Queensland Health, as well as motorbike seat restoration for local dealerships. Specialising in antique and retro furniture restoration, I personally oversee every project from start to finish, ensuring superior craftsmanship that often surpasses original conditions.

My commitment to quality is reflected in my motto, 'My word is my bond,' which guides all client interactions. We offer comprehensive services including fabric supply from premium brands like Warwick and Sunbrella, custom deep buttoning, and diamond stitching techniques. Our environmentally conscious approach helps reduce landfill waste by revitalising existing furniture. With a focus on personal client relationships rather than mass production, I guarantee transparent pricing with no hidden fees. Our workshop in Manunda serves Cairns and surrounding regions, maintaining strict quality control through direct owner involvement in every task.
