We look forward to meeting you. Dr Van Beem was born and educated in Perth, studying at the University of Western Australia and graduating medicine in 1982.
After internship and residency at Royal Perth Hospital he undertook specialist training in plastic and reconstructive surgery at Royal Perth Hospital which included time at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital and Princess Margaret Hospital for Children. In 1989 he worked at St Thomas' Hospital in London as a lecturer with the University of London and in 1990 undertook a further fellowship in plastic and reconstructive surgery in Oxford, United Kingdom.
