Each of the 18 holes on the Graham Papworth designed course is maintained to a very high standard and each present their own challenge with long grass, revetted bunkers and boundaries of wetlands and other natural wildlife habitat.

The Par 69 layout provides a rewarding and enjoyable golfing challenge for players of all standards in beautiful surroundings with a temperate climate and cool prevailing breezes. The course layout has been revised to provide you with a challenging, Par 69, 18 hole course comprising 3 Par 5s, 9 Par 4s and 6 Par 3s.

Construction of the final 6 holes was completed at the end of 2019 and are now in play to provide you with a challenging Par 69, 18 hole course. The innovative design by golf architect Graham Papworth, takes full advantage of some excellent natural assets - gentle rolling hills, well-drained volcanic soil, existing kikuyu pastures, surrounding rainforest and some wetland.

Spicers’ Red Belly Challenge

Maleny Golf Club is daring all competition golfers to take on its testing new mid-week Red Belly Challenge and beat their official handicap off the Sunshine Coast Hinterland course's Championship Tees.

Club Professional Rob McConnell said players would compete for great prizes in the monthly single-stroke event and anyone who beat their adjusted AGU handicap stood to win a dozen premium Srixon Z Star golf balls - more than covering the cost of their $45 entry fee.

HOLE 2: A 468m Par 5 swings around the wetland on the left and is protected by a generous bunker across the front right of the green. HOLE 8: This 150m Par 3 has an undulating green that is guarded by bunkers both left and right and a sharp drop at the back. HOLE 9: This 424m Par 5 hole features an undulating fairway doglegged left to the green, guarded by a bunker on the right.

Today, the Club's Monthly Medal events are held on the last Saturday of the month for men, and the last Wednesday of the month for ladies. Former Club Captain John Oxenham donated a perpetual trophy for the winners of our weekly Thursday competition, initially played on temporary holes on the site of the future course.
