Vector Images or Outlined Images are made from points or polygons meaning it can be scaled to anysize without distorting. A Vector Image can be printed the size of a football field and still be as sharpe as designed. Pixel Images are made up of multiple pixel squares that are designed to stay at the size they were created, enlarging the size of a pixel image results in a pixelated or "stepped" edge that doesn't look sharpe.
