The Right Gear Driving School teaches learner drivers to be confident and safe. We deliver lessons tailored to each individual with a strong attention to detail and correct driving techniques. Our priority is to help our clients develop the appropriate hazard awareness techniques and become confident in their decision-making whilst driving to ensure their own safety and that of other drivers.
Our training is comprehensive and concise as we help learner drivers on the road to gaining their provisional license. We offer a number of different driving courses, suited to your level. Our services include; driving lessons, VORT test, defensive driving, overseas conversions or international driving lessons, and a special course we call P's in a day.

What we offer is far more than just teaching a learner driver correct driving techniques. We want them to have a comprehensive understanding of the safest and most efficient way to drive a car. We want them to learn the correct way of negotiating road and traffic hazards and develop a greater awareness of potentially dangerous situations and how to avoid them.

We teach them how to forward plan and start how to assess each situation on approach and ensure they optimize their own safety and anticipate potential hazards and possible mistakes from other drivers. It's about helping them develop a greater awareness of the constantly changing traffic conditions around them.
Prices
Report
Requires 100% Road Law compliance and 90% System of Car Control to pass. Three working days notice is required to book a test. Learners must wait two weeks before reattempting a VORT test. Price includes Government fees and charges, and the booking fee is to be paid in advance (non-refundable). Price includes one hour warm up lesson, car hire for the VORT test & Examiner and government fees.

At The Right Gear we appreciate that every client is unique. We adapt our teaching techniques to ensure everyone progresses as fast as possible and finds the experience of learning to drive both positive and enjoyable. Everything we teach is to the exact government standard so when our learners are assessed by an examiner, everything is performed correctly.
VORT Test
Report
The VORT test (Vehicle On Road Test) comprises of two main parts. Part one consists of five basic manoeuvres and part two is an assessment of their overall on road driving ability. However 100% road rule compliance is required and any breach of the law is an automatic fail. The most common breaches are speeding in a school or roadwork zones and failing to completely stop at a stop sign.
