Unless your optometrist recommends otherwise, you should have your eyes examined every two years or every year if over sixty-five. Apart from checking for any vision deficits during eye examinations. Our optometrists will provide an inspection of internal and external eye structures.

At For Beautiful Eyes, Dr David O'Sullivan (Optometrist), and Dr Cristina Bucci (Optometrist) have the latest technology at their disposal, including retinal cameras and Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) retinal scanners.We will thoroughly assess your vision, as well as the health of your eyes, and prescribe glasses and/or contact lenses if they are required.

Using the latest technology allows our Optometrists to conduct thorough comprehensive eye examinations. Depending on what procedures are required, the examination may take up to 45 minutes. Extra procedures and testing are done on indication only. A second consultation may be scheduled if there is insufficient time for all tests.

Serious eye conditions may not display symptoms in the early stages. Diseases such as glaucoma and macula degeneration may be present for months or years and remain undiagnosed. Consequently regular eye health checks are important to help minimise or prevent any long term damage.

Some of the health conditions for which we screen are glaucoma, macula degeneration, diabetes, dry eye, vascular changes related to hypertension, cataracts, eyelid disorders, tumours and retinitis pigmentosa.This condition, which causes damage to the optic nerve, is the leading cause of blindness worldwide.
