Lipscombe Early Years Education and Care offers a range of full time and part time care options for children aged 3 months to 12 years. Our experienced teams are based across three locations in Sandy Bay.
Our Infants and Toddlers are located in Lipscombe Avenue, with pre-school and school aged care conveniently co-located with our community schools. Sandy Bay Infant School Outside School Hours Care offers a relaxing, sociable atmosphere before and after the school day for children aged 5-8 years. We offer before and after school sessions, along with a dedicated vacation care program, on the Waimea Heights Primary School campus.

We are a community based, not-for-profit organisation that has been providing quality early years services since 1944. All Lipscombe programs are approved services with Child Care Subsidy available to eligible families. We are assessed and rated against the National Quality Standards, and proud that all programs are currently rated as 'exceeding' the standard.

Children are at the heart of everything we do at Lipscombe. We understand that children learn and develop best when they feel happy, safe and secure in their environment. Strong connections and plenty of opportunities to explore, play and discover are the foundation. Our curriculum is influenced by a range of theories, including the Reggio Emilia approach which emphasises the importance of child-led learning and inquiry.
0–2 years Bumble Bees

Just as they would be at home, infant and toddler routines and rhythms are the focus in Bumble Bee. Close, caring and attentive educators will ensure children's needs are met in a warm and responsive way. Infants and toddlers also have opportunity and encouragement to explore a range of indoor and outdoor experiences which will support their overall development.
2-3 years Playhouse

As your child grows from an infant to a toddler their needs and interests will change. Playhouse marks the transition between the homelike environment of Bumble Bee and the school-readiness of Nutgrove or Seagulls, while maintaining the nurturing, personalised care that Lipscombe is renowned for. Our Playhouse staff team enjoy working in collaboration with families to develop toddlers' self help skills, personal care and independence.
