At Lonergan & Ravens we always try to personalise a funeral to your individual needs and can provide a score of options. But we know families find it helpful to compare simple packages that include all the necessities, with no hidden extras. You can of course add more to these packages, but you can also subtract un-needed items if you so desire.

It is an unfortunate fact of life that funerals tend to happen when you least expect them. Not only does this often cause financial hardship at a time when the family is already under emotional stress, but it sometimes leads to families feeling they have to compromise, and have a cremation rather than a burial, or a chapel service rather than a church service, in an effort to cut costs.

It is unfortunately true that different Funeral Directors charge widely varying prices for exactly the same funeral. Some big name companies regularly charge over $12,000 or even $15,000 for a funeral that a company like ours would be able to do for between $5,000 and $7,000!

We recommend that you always compare prices, and that you only accept averaged 'package deals' if they demonstrably save you money over a funeral specifically tailored to your requirements.

Funerals can be big or small, simple or complex, and it is important not to let yourself be overwhelmed into accepting an expensive package that suits a corporate sales targeting quota, when a little patience and willingness to shop around should get you a funeral exactly suited to your families specific needs.
