We started Dalmatian Driving School in early 2011 around the northern suburbs of Melbourne (Bundoora Vicroads). As you may be aware, this area is very cosmopolitan and as a result has a huge variation in driving and driver abilities. We cut our teeth by mentoring learner drivers in consistently heavy and, many times, chaotic traffic conditions.

Although we teach both automatic and manual, in Geelong we have experienced a consistent increase in demand for our manual lessons and have been encouraged by the number of families who still own at least one manual car. This, as a consequence, makes it much easier for you to become more proficient in the mechanics of manual driving.

Supervisor Tips
Report
If your learner is having trouble staying in their lane (position on road) and wanders from side to side, it may help if you have them look much further along the road, this will allow them to use their peripheral vision to check where they are in the lane. It is advisable to explain the value of peripheral vision and demonstrate whilst the vehicle is initially stationary at the side of the road.
