Ballarat Iyengar Yoga
We have reopened the studio for many classes. The weekend classes and morning classes are all being run as hybrid classes - that is we are offering both in studio and Zoom online classes simultaneously. For the moment, please byo soft props (mat, blankets, belts, pads and bolster) that you require for your practice.

Iyengar yoga is characterised by precision and alignment in performing the asanas as well as the duration for which they are held. Props may also be used such as blankets, bolsters and belts to facilitate alignment and support in the asanas. Precise alignment of the body helps to correct postural imbalances.

Why Practice Iyengar Yoga
Report
You don't need to be able to touch your toes to do Iyengar yoga, but if you practice it, that may be one of the results you get. In addition to stretching your muscles, the physical demand of holding each pose will help you build strength and tone your body. Once you enter an asana or pose, the method of Iyengar yoga is to focus on the alignment of the pose.
Beginners
Report
All our students receive clear instructions detailing how to do the postures so that students do the poses correctly rather than just rushing through them. Students attend classes suitable to their level which means all students learn in appropriate ways with people who are at the same level. The teachers take the time to give assistance, and know how to do so in an appropriate manner.
