Rhodes Veterinary Clinic is a mixed animal veterinary clinic in Colac that was founded by Dr Dusty Rhodes in 1952. We provide care for animals both large and small. We service far and wide, covering farming enterprises from Timboon to Geelong. Our Colac Clinic is open 8am-6pm weekdays and 9-12 Saturday and our Simpson Branch is open from 10am to 3pm Monday and Friday.

We travel to Apollo Bay each Tuesday. Our experienced veterinarians provide consultations by appointment but also offer a 24 hour emergency service. We are proud members of the Australian Veterinary Association, Australian Association of Cattle Vets and Australian Veterinary Practice Management Association.
Services
Consultations
Report
We offer regular consultations. During these visits our Vets will perform an examination and discuss any issues you may have with your pet and recommend the best course of treatment. This could be for a range of reasons from your pet being off food / unwell to suffering from anxiety or arthritis.

Visits to our cattle include routine calvings & caesareans, displacement surgery, downer cows, unwell animals, herd health visits and advice, pregnancy testing and dislocated hips.
Dental Care
Report
The common symptoms of dental disease include bad breath, red / swollen / bleeding gums, a build-up of plaque on the teeth and often a reluctance, due to pain, to eat their regular food. After a consultation with our Vets / Nurses we decide on the treatment plan required. Sometimes this is a diet change and sometimes we are required to perform a clean and scale with extractions if necessary.
Vaccinations & Health Checks
Report
All new puppies and kittens need to be vaccinated against the common diseases that they may be exposed to. The first vaccination is given between six and eight weeks of age. When your pet visits us for a vaccination they are also given a health check. C3 Vaccine helps prevent against Canine Distemper, Canine Hepatitis & Canine Parvovirus enteritis.
Microchipping
Report
A microchip, which is the size of a grain of rice, implanted into the neck of your pet will provide your pet with lifetime, permanent identification. The chip is inserted under the skin of your cat or dog. This chip has a unique number that corresponds with your pet's details and your contact information that we lodge with the Central Animal Records data base.
Nutrition & Prescription Diets
Report
It is very important that the new pet that joins your family receives good quality feed to ensure it has the energy required to grow. Our Nurses are available to answer any questions you may have regarding your pet's feeding regime. We stock a wide range of the Hills Science Veterinary Diets for both dogs and cats.
