Orange Funerals is a locally owned and operated business by John McDonell. John was born and raised in Orange and is the youngest of a large family. The McDonell family have lived and worked in the Orange area for over 100 years, with John's children to be the fifth generation. The business has been serving Orange and its districts since the start of 2000.
What to do first
Report
Before a funeral director can transfer the deceased to a funeral home a Death Certificate must be signed by a doctor. The family doctor will need to be called should the death have taken place at home and if the deceased was seen by the doctor in the last three months. Also in the case of a home death it is not necessary to call an ambulance simply call us and we will arrange a suitable time with you to collect your loved one.

It's a regrettable fact of life but nearly everything important involved paperwork and the information needed to arrange a funeral is no exception. So when you are preparing to come in to do an arrangement with us there is certain information about your loved one that we need to know in order to make a complete application to Births, Deaths and Marriages and to ensure no delays and/or the need for a follow up appointment or phone call.
Funeral Cost

Orange Funerals have our own mortuary on site, 1 Cameron Place, Orange. If someone passes away within approx. 100kms radius of Orange, we will transfer the deceased in our own mortuary ambulance and using our own staff approx. In relation to Cremation, we usually use the closest to where the funeral in conducted.

Orange Funerals provides a full range of facilities to cater for funerals of every kind all within our premises. Our chapel is available for all kinds of services whether they are religious, civil or conducted by a family member and we are able to arrange the chapel to suit the smallest gathering. It is available on weekdays, evenings, or weekends.
