Based in Terrey Hills and serving Sydney's North Shore, Northern suburbs and Northern Beaches, we offer an extension of the services offered by your family vet, providing after-hours emergency care 365 days of the year.
Meet Our Directors

Michael graduated from Sydney University with 1st Class honours in 1982. He then went to England to work for 2 years before returning home to work on Sydney's Northern Beaches. In 1992 he opened St Ives Veterinary Surgery. Michael is a member of the Australian Veterinary Association and completed a PhD in exercise physiology at Sydney University in 1996.

Red blood cells are used for dogs with severe anaemia (low red cell count) or blood loss from trauma or surgery. Plasma contains antibodies, clotting factors and protein albumins. Plasma is often used for animals with clotting factor deficiency, rat bait toxicity, low protein albumin level, burns and autoimmune disease.

Specialising in animal emergencies and critical care services, we provide you with a dedicated after-hours emergency vet hospital for your pet. Similar to a human hospital, our Northside Emergency vet hospital works on a triage system.
