Our Bush and Beach Kindy immerses children in natural environments through regular excursions to Porter Park bushlands and Pumistone Passage foreshore. With additional educators ensuring safety, children engage in hands-on learning about ecosystems, seasons, and sustainability while developing physical coordination and environmental stewardship through guided nature exploration.
Creative Arts Program
The creative arts program features a resident artist working 30 weekly hours and weekly ceramic workshops. Children explore painting, sculpture, and mixed media techniques while developing self-expression, fine motor skills, and artistic confidence through individual projects and collaborative installations displayed at our annual art exhibition celebrating children's creative achievements.
Government Approved Kindergarten
Our Queensland Government Approved Kindergarten Program operates daily from 8:30am-4pm with 6 university-trained teachers. The curriculum follows Queensland Kindergarten Learning Guidelines, offering 15 hours weekly free kindy for 40 weeks while maintaining above-standard educator ratios to ensure personalized learning pathways preparing children for school transitions through play-based literacy, numeracy, and social skills development.
Nature Camp Excursions
Weekly all-day Nature Camps provide immersive outdoor experiences for kindergarten-aged children in small groups of 15. Activities include bushwalking, beach exploration, gardening, and animal care with chickens and guinea pigs. These programs develop environmental awareness, physical resilience, and teamwork through hands-on learning about ecosystems, sustainable practices, and natural resource management.
Outdoor Education
Our outdoor education program combines structured activities with free play in expansive natural play spaces. A dedicated Outdoor Educator facilitates gross motor development through climbing, balancing, and team games while teaching risk assessment and safety awareness. The program integrates physical challenges with nature observation to promote healthy lifestyles, coordination, and confidence in outdoor environments.
