Prior to training in Medicine, Dr Keating worked as a Travel Agent & then undertook a Diploma of Applied Science in Nursing in Sydney. He graduated in Medicine from the University of Newcastle, NSW in 1989 as a mature age student. Moving back to Brisbane in 1991 with his wife and two sons he commenced surgical training gaining valuable experience in paediatric surgery & urology, plastic surgery and neurosurgery.
