Colour

Diamonds come in an array of colours, depending on the trace elements found within the stone. Coloured diamonds, classified as fancy diamonds, come in a range of colours, including yellow, pink, blue and even black. When looking at white diamonds, however, the higher quality stones have the least amount of colour.

Almost all diamonds contain some degree of colour impurity, known as inclusions, typically caused by long-drawn-out traces of nitrogen, boron or hydrogen which are present while the gems are forming deep within the earth.
