Report
A comprehensive history is taken to understand your concerns or injury, your current level of activity, footwear and your goals of treatment. Some patients may not be injured but require advice to prevent injuries and/or improve their performance. Book in your initial consultation at a time that suits you.
Digital Gait Assessment
Report
Following a detailed measurement and history, you will normally be digitally filmed while walking or running on a treadmill, so that a slow motion gait analysis can be performed. This lets us store the images for future comparison.
Our sports podiatrists can then more accurately assess your walking or running style, which may be used to help diagnose the cause of existing problems and often prevent future overuse syndromes that your current running style may predispose you to.We also encourage patients to bring shorts and old and new running shoes, as many people run very differently in their shoes.

Shockwave Therapy
Report
Shockwave therapy (otherwise known as Extracorporeal ShockWave Therapy or ESWT for short) is a totally non-invasive way to utilise the bodies self-healing response for conditions such as plantar fasciitis, knee tendonitis, achilles tendonitis, hamstring tendonitis, and similar injuries. It's cutting edge therapy, and is backed by many peer reviewd studies around the world.
Custom Orthotics
Report
There are plenty of articles debating soft versus semi-rigid orthotics, and even some health professionals advertising they can fix most foot problems with "foot mobilization techniques" (Similar to a chiropractor "cracking" and manipulating the joints of the feet).
The truth is that the majority of people who "over-pronate" (feet roll inwards/ arches collapse too much) do so because of hyper-mobility due to ligament laxity (double jointed in layman's terms.Mobilizing the joints of the feet alone for a patient with hyper-mobility has only extremely temporary benefit, if any at all.

General Podiatry
Report
The main cause of nail thickening is trauma - this may be caused by a serious and direct trauma e.g. Callus and corns are areas of hard skin which build-up as a result of increasing pressure and friction. Over time this build-up can become uncomfortable and very painful in certain cases.
The best at-home treatment is to regularly scrub feet with a pumice stone or callus file (purchased from your local chemist) and to keep the skin soft with regular moisturiser.Fungal nail infections (onychomycosis) typically start with small white spots or strips on the surface of the nail but if they're not treated will start to eat away at the keratin and cause the nail to thicken, discolour and crumble - making them look very unpleasant.
