Lacewood furniture was established in 1993 by Brisbane furniture maker and designer Mark Mills. My aim has always been to create handmade furniture pieces that reflect my own personal taste. Each piece has to have that special 'handmade' quality that I hope everyone (even those not particularly interested in furniture design) can see, feel and appreciate.
Sometimes it's the interesting exposed joinery or simply the choice of timber grain, the pieces are all designed to be quite special in their own way and I hope offer a daily touch of inspiration & enjoyment to the owner. In a world full of disposable things, these pieces are truly designed and made to last a lifetime.

Rosewood
Report
Rosewood is a medium density hardwood that grows across South-East Asia. The heartwood varies from a lovely rich golden brown through to a rich deep red, although we generally only feature the red tones on request. The figured grain in Rosewood is particularly attractive, frequently including swirls, fiddleback, burrs and more.
