At Doncaster East Daycare and Kindergarten (DEDK), we strive for excellence in early childhood education, teaching and care within a warm and nurturing environment. With only 45 places across three rooms, we offer a more personalised experience for your family and, especially, your child. My son attended DEDK for 4 years.

We had a look at a couple of centres in the area and they felt too big. As soon as we walked through the doors at DEDK, it felt right. The curriculum has been fantastic, my son learned new things on a regular basis with his favourite being arts and crafts and the solar system. I can't recommend DEDK enough.

Centre Philosophy
Report
At DEDK, we provide an inviting, warm and nurturing environment where children, families and educators feel a sense of belonging. As educators, we know a child's early years are a critical development period forming the foundation for their future wellbeing and lifelong learning. We are guided by the Victorian Early Years Framework, the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child and Early Childhood Australia's Code of Ethics.
Educators
Report
Research consistently demonstrates that children make better progress in settings led by university degree qualified early childhood teachers. Pre-school age children who access high quality, early years teaching environments tend to retain an educational advantage throughout their school years.

The Approved Provider of DEDK, Katrine Kelly, has extensive experience in the education sector and holds a Bachelor of Education (Secondary), an Advanced Diploma in Community Services (Children's Services) and a Master of Teaching, specialising in Early Childhood.Katrine collaborates very closely with our Centre Manager.
Curriculum
Report
We take particular pride in providing a quality educational start because research suggests that 90 per cent of a child's brain development occurs by the time they turn five years of age. When children move from DEDK to Foundation at primary school, they are properly prepared for the next phase of their educational journey.
Nutrition and Health
Report
Our designed menus consider advice provided by The Healthy Eating Advisory Service (HEAS), which is funded by the Victorian Government and delivered by Nutrition Australia Vic Division. Their aim is to 'inspire healthy eating' in early childhood services through information, education and consultation services.
