Blue Mountains Solar is a locally run and operated business based in the heart of the Blue Mountains at Katoomba. Since 2009, we have designed and installed over 1,500 solar systems, making us one of the most experienced solar teams in the mountains. We care about our local community because we live and work within that community.
When we visit you for a site assessment you can be guaranteed that your job will be given the attention to detail that a good solar system requires. We'll check the position of the sun and other elements around your home, so that you get the best possible results out of your solar system. Blue Mountains Solar use and recommend SunPower's Maxeon 3 400 Watt Solar panel.

Grid Connect Solar
Report
Blue Mountains Solar supply and install the most reliable and efficient solar panels available in the world today, the SunPower E 20 327W solar panel. SMA inverters are ready to be coupled with any battery using the SMA Sunny Island. This means you won't have to upgrade your inverter when you decide to get batteries down the track.
Hybrid Solar
Report
Once we have you all connected up, you can login into your Sunny Portal and check your Energy Balance to see how much power you have consumed and how much you have saved. The graph above shows a typical example of live energy consumption and generation. The tabs at the top display Current, Day, Month, Year and Total usage.

The POWERHOUSE
Report
The Powerhouse was built in 1925 by the Blue Mountains City Council as a coal fired generator to supply electricity to North Katoomba, Medlow Bath and Blackheath. Powered by two Bellis and Morcom steam coal fired generators. Coal was supplied for the mine from where the Scenic Railway is now situated.
The TIGO System
Report
We prefer Tigo optimizers because micro inverters like Enphase, can't supply the power required for SunPower solar panels. Also Tigo optimizers don't convert the DC power to AC power on the roof, therefore generating less heat than micro inverters. What this means is that the hotter an electronic device gets, the shorter the life that device has.
