Examination Diagnosis and Treatment planning

To ensure a correct diagnosis is achieved you dentist will get a thorough history of the your chief complaint, noting the signs and symptoms, a thorough visual examination will follow. There may be the need for some additional tests such as a cold test or a crack finder text. X-rays will be paramount to see in areas we cannot see such as inbetween the teeth and in the roots, gums and jaws.
Preventive Dentistry And Fissure Seals

Preventative treatment can consist of oral hygiene instructions to ensure patient is removing the plaque from their teeth thoroughly. There is dietary counselling to ensure the patient is eating healthy and limiting the intake of foods that are high in sugar and harmful to your teeth in excess. Fissure seals- Tooth decay can start in deep grooves and fissures in the molar teeth at the back of the mouth.
General Dentistry

General Dentistry consists of Examinations, Cleans, preventative treatment and general restorative work i.e. fillings. At JK Dental we help you stay on top of your oral health by encouraging regular 6 monthly check ups and cleans. If your tooth gets decay then it may be necessary to remove the decay and restore your tooth to health and function using filling material to fill the decayed tooth structure.

The supporting structures surrounding your teeth are collectively called The PERIODONTIUM. These consist of gums, bone, periodontal ligament and cementum. These supporting structures are vital to the health, structure and function of your teeth. Sometimes, depending on the health of your gums you may require a deep clean under local anaesthetic over 1-2 appointments.
