Family Hotel Tibooburra
Tibooburra's Family Hotel is an authentic outback family pub, not just a name, that will welcome you and your family like one of their own. The publicans, Melissa and William, have built on the history of their iconic pub (built 1882) to create an experience of genuine country hospitality often missing in the rushed and impersonal ways of the city.

The Family Hotel is also famed for the Murals that cover the walls of the bar. Created in the 1960s by Clifton Pugh, Russell Drysdale and others, they are a must-see! Not for the sensitive as they are a bit bawdy. The locals will ask "how you doing", they do mean it and will be up for a chat - in true Corner County style.

How outback do you want to go? You drive 296 km north of Broken Hill, 39 km south of Tibooburra and 1,465 km from Sydney to a small turnoff from the Silver City Highway. All around the red dusty soils of Outback New South Wales stretch to the horizon. When gold was discovered in 1880 this became a thriving town but today it is a shadow of its former self.
