The ongoing dental health of our patients is very important. For this reason, we pay special attention to preventative dental visits. Our team includes Dental Hygienist Trisha Stephenson, and our Oral Health Therapist Jose Kathavelil who are here to help you maintain healthy teeth and gums. In a typical Hygiene appointment, Trish or Jose, will assess the health of your mouth and will review how you look after your teeth and gums at home.
Examinations

We provide our patients with a comprehensive examination, where the dentist will check all of your teeth for things such as tooth decay, fracture, wear and gum disease. For most patients, we recommend a dental examination every six months. A regular dental examination is essential in maintaining healthy teeth and gums.

Clean teeth are important for your general health as well as the health of your mouth. Studies are now showing a link between gum infections and heart disease and other systemic illnesses. We are extremely fortunate to have a Dental Hygienist and Oral Health Therapist to provide you with the best possible care when it comes to looking after your teeth and gums.
Fissure Sealants

Fissure Sealants are the best preventive measure against decay since fluoride was put into the water supply. The grooves on the biting surfaces of most molar teeth are too deep and too narrow to be completely cleaned with a toothbrush. Fissure sealing is a preventive procedure that involves the placement of a dental resin in these deep grooves to prevent the accumulation of food and decay-causing bacteria.
Fillings

With vast improvements in dental materials over the past few decades we can now offer lasting tooth coloured fillings. Our practice uses a wide variety of materials including composite resin, a strong material which can be bonded to the tooth. Composite fillings can be used to fill existing cavities, replace old worn down fillings or repair chipped teeth.
