In 2002 Peter and Debbie Gardiner travelled around Australia with their four children, Peter's mother and their dog in tow, looking for the perfect motel to buy. It's no great surprise that a motel set on a large, landscaped garden area with a premier golf club on one side and a beach on the other, just up the road from Merimbula airport and centrally located between the bustling centres of Merimbula and Pambula, took their fancy.
