Everything a weary traveler would want for an overnight break on a long trip. Clean, spacious, well equipped rooms. Helpful owner and even a room service dinner menu if you don't want to drive any more (we didn't). Good quality beds and bedding - could hardly be bettered in this price bracket. Very welcoming and such a treat not to go searching for somewhere to eat after a long drive as there's also a licensed restaurant.
The evening meal was really good and breakfast didn't disappoint either. The room was spacious, bathroom looked new and the bed was so comfortable. Would highly recommend. We stayed here for one night on our way from Brisbane to Sydney. We booked a family room which has a separate room for the children.

Kempsey is often referred to as the perfect halfway stop between Sydney and Brisbane. Your hosts, Tracy and Martin are country folk. They understand and deliver country hospitality at every opportunity to ensure your stay is enjoyable.

The covered gas BBQ area is located within the pool fencing. The in-ground salt water pool is open during the warmer months and is maintained at a very high standard. Considerable shade is provided by the palms from mid to late afternoon. The Guests Laundry provides a coin operated washing machine and dryer.

The majestic Slim Dusty centre building stands complete at the gateway of Slim's hometown of Kempsey. The modern centre displays Slim and Joy's vast collection of memorabilia from their 60yrs of touring around Australia. Slim Dusty took the culture of the Australian bush to ordinary people through his unique style of country music.

The Lantern Inn Restaurant is fully licensed and is open Mon to Sat from 6pm. The restaurant itself, located near reception, is comfortable and spacious. The chef serves a varied selection of tasty, wholesome home cooked a'la carte entre's and mains. Children are also catered for and all meals are affordable.
