Very convenient location with short walk up the road to most of the places to see in Barcaldine including Tree of Knowledge, Railway Station and the Great Shearer's Strike Memorial. We stayed in the motel rather than a cabin and the room was clean and the bed comfortable if a little old fashioned in layout. We ate at the restaurant joined to the motel. Be aware, the meals are huge. We ordered the half Rump and could only manage to finish half of it. I suggest having your meals with the salad and potato bake as the vegetables were a bit soggy. At $135 this was virtually our cheapest motel during

Beautiful meals and great service when we first got there we were told that it might take about 45 minutes to get our meals because they were quite busy. Which was fine and nice to be told up front so we ordered and grabbed a drink. About 20 minutes later our meals came out and were very nice and great value.

An absolute gem in Barcaldine. From book in to book out our stay was amazing. Staff were so friendly and helpful. The inhouse restaurant was closed (unfortunately due to staffing issues) but the room service was amazing, very efficient, with beautiful meals. The room/cabin was so clean, comfortable and spacious. due to covid most pubs were with out operating kitchens and we were disappointed to hear this but the motels kitchen and chefs provided excellent food.

We stayed in a cabin here and it was very nice. Clean, modern and well appointed.
I have to dock a few stars for the incredibly rude woman we encountered in the restaurant however, who I think may have been the owner?! We enquired about the restaurant when checking in but weren’t told you needed to book and were later turned away from the restaurant and this woman was rude to us behind our backs to another member of staff. There was really nowhere else to eat in town so we didn’t get much of a dinner that night and I certainly don’t expect to be treated like that.
