The New Unity Hall Hotel was established on this site in 1875 when the license was moved from the first Unity Hall Hotel in East Balmain. The Unity has been at the heart of Balmain ever since. It was also here that the Australian Labor Party was formed. The Workers Bar is upstairs at the Unity and is open every Saturday night from 7pm until 3am.
